On Sunday 12 February we had fun designing colourful floral greetings cards with our residents here at Lukestone Care Home.
Our Team Lead, Mihaela, piqued our residents’ curiosity with her beautiful artistry; with just a few strokes she created beautiful flowers of different varieties.
Many of our residents were keen to see what she was painting and began to participate in one way or another. Some were actively directing her on what to paint like Brian, who enjoyed suggesting where the flowers and leaves needed to go. Meanwhile others just took pleasure from observing the artistic journey.
At one point, Mihaela was brought to tears when David and Mary took over the painting and completed it by themselves; such a wonderful moment.
By the end of the activity, we had a collection of beautiful cards from our residents.
