We had an early Valentine’s celebration at Lukestone Care Home on Saturday 11 February.
Singer and musician, Simon Lee, was our wonderful entertainment for the day. He sang as he played his guitar and in-between he would reach out to the audience with various engaging activities like warm-up exercises using different nursery rhymes.
Simon was able to hold our residents’ attention with his performing ladies who called themselves ‘Simonheads‘ (Linda and Mihaela from our Activities Team!) who put on a show with their dancing. Our residents could not help but dance with them or in their seats watching them have so much fun on the dance floor.
Our Head Chef Mandy and her team made the event extra special with their wonderful cupcakes and Valentine’s cake. It was beautifully decorated with edible beads and raspberries and the cupcakes had little hearts on them. It was perfect to wrap up our Valentine’s celebration sweetly with a delicious treat.
