On Saturday 5 August here at Lukestone Care Home, we crafted some delicate wooden frames with our residents, and what fun it was!
We used bamboo dowel rods and wooden spoons for the base of our frames. Using a glue gun, we pressed them together to create perfect frames of different shapes and sizes. Later, we added decorations and our residents painted the frames in the colours of their choice.
After taking pictures with the ladies and gents who took part in the activity, we gave them their beautiful arts creations with a photo of themselves holding their handiwork.
It was a delightful surprise as some residents, like Bernadette, cheerfully gave it a big smooch as soon as she realised that was her own picture on the frame!
Barbara added that she loved it and requested for it to be taken in her room as did the others. We look forward to making more frames with our residents in our Home.
