On Thursday 2 March 2023 we welcomed spring in at Lukestone Care Home by making daffodils with our residents.
We used a paper flower cutout for the base and egg cartons for the classic bulge in the centre for a realistic daffodil effect. Our residents painted the petals orange and yellow in their own style and pattern. They even coloured the stem yellow as they loved the bright colour. After every piece was individually colored, the petals were glued together and laid to rest for sometime.
Betty and Ann had so much fun painting and gluing the pieces together with Linda and Mihaela, from Activities Team. Our daffodils were completed once the strings were attached on the centre and they stood tall on their own. Ann could not help but admire the flower when Mihaela, our Team Leader, brought it closer to her. She took a sniff mistaking the flower for a real one!
