On Thursday 16 February, Mihaela, our Team Leader, brought in a variety of cheeses to stimulate our residents’ taste and smell senses here at Lukestone Care Home; our tasting trolley was filled with all sorts of mouthwatering cheese, accompanied by wine and chilled beer for everyone.
We decorated our trolley beautifully with cheese with the help of our entire kitchen staff and in particular Elle, our Kitchen Assistant, who instructed and gave a helping hand cutting and plating for the activity.
The trolley then toured around our entire Home gently wafting the surroundings with the scent of fresh and creamy cheese and crackers.
Upon seeing the cheese platter, our residents were excited to have a taste. Even Mary who was asleep initially, woke up to devour an entire plate of cheese and crackers in no time. Delicious!
