Last week at Lukestone Care Home we enjoyed baking cookies in Paula’s Pantry.
This was quite a sensory activity, with our residents kneading the dough and feeling different textures as we made it.
Ann was particularly involved as she did a lot of whisking and cracked the eggs into the mixture perfectly!
The heat made it difficult to roll the dough and it was constantly melting in our hands! It was more of a challenge to make, but we still had so much fun – adding in food colouring to make different coloured cookies according to our residents’ favourite colours.
We really want to find some new recipes, as our residents enjoyed baking so much and loved reminiscing about what they used to bake themselves in the past.
