Social Ability Happiness Programme Demonstration
On Friday 30 June, Adam from Social Ability UK came to demonstrate the Magic Table 360 to our residents here at Lukestone Care Home, using the revolutionary interactive light projector
The ‘Happiness Programme’ is a first-of-its-kind initiative helping to change the lives of people living with cognitive challenges which uses interactive light technology to provide meaningful activities for residents in Care Homes and care settings. The programme supports residents in interactive play experiences which encourages participation, social experience, and engagement.
Our residents loved the Magic Table 360 which moved from the table to the floor, walls, and ceiling. Adam was quick to pick up on the residents needs and quickly picked engaging activities for them with the Magic table 360. Throughout the demonstration, we were engaged in stimulating activities, competitive games, sensory play, chair exercises, and even karaoke. It had something truly magical for everyone.
Tess was in awe looking at a beautiful sky being projected in the ceiling. Likewise, Betty, Ann, and Gillian had a fantastic run on the games that were projected on the table. Even Jennifer, who was in her bedroom, was engaged in the sensory games like popping colourful balloons and sweeping autumn leaves on her blanket. They loved to have the big speakers turned on playing pleasant background music while the projector displayed beautiful landscapes on the ceiling.
