On Monday 19 September our residents at Lukestone Care Home grieved for the Queen; BBC News fully captured their attention as it broadcast live her Majesty’s touching funeral service.
Our ladies and gents had much to share about her life and took the whole day to slowly mourned her passing.
Before the funeral broadcast, we distributed the full schedule of the service to interested residents. It was helpful as they were curious about the entire ceremony.
We brought out our cuddle bears and corgi dolls to comfort our residents as they watched the procession. They held roses in their hands in prayer as they reminisced her reign.
Ann and Tess decorated a small memorial display in our quiet lounge with roses, portraits and candles where everyone could pay their respects.
