Jubilee party time at Lukestone Care Home

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee here at Lukestone Care Home, we held a special tea party fit for a Queen!

Our residents had an amazing time with their families in our garden and in the lounge we were treated to the brilliant singer Rick Stills performing some 50s and 60s tunes, with lots of our residents up dancing with staff and family.

We held a raffle at the end with lots of amazing hampers and drinks to be won. One of our ladies’ husbands Jim won two prizes and gifted his hamper to another family – what a gentleman!

Special thanks to our Head Chef Mandy and our amazing Kitchen Team who worked tirelessly all week to serve up the most amazing homemade pastries and cakes.

Party time

On Saturday 4 June we were due to hold our Jubilee BBQ. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side but this didn’t dampen our spirits – we held an party indoors instead and had a fabulous time!

Talented vocalist Lauren came in and sang some wartime classics, with Ann and Ellen up having a boogey with our staff.

We finished the afternoon with another raffle, a game of bingo and some games of ‘Pin the jewel on the crown‘.

What a wonderful Jubilee – thank you to everyone who made our celebrations so special.
