In January at Lukestone Care Home we went on a virtual mini cruise to Mexico which we loved so much!
Mexico is a wonderfully colourful country with lots of diversity and beauty to admire. In order to get into the Mexican holiday vibe, we invited singer Fred Clark to entertain all our ladies and gents and he did such a good job of engaging everyone and encouraging us all to sing and dance.
Our residents helped make themed table decorations and tassels for our tea trolley, which was pride of place during our Mexican coffee morning, with delicious fruits and Mexican-inspired cupcakes to enjoy.
Our new volunteer Chase made some posters for us, and we decked our Home with flags, flowers and colourful tablecloths to help transform everywhere into Mexico for the week. There were also sombreros to wear of course!
As part of the fun, our residents enjoyed a Mexican tasting trolley with fajitas to sample, which were a delicious treat.
What a fantastic week celebrating Mexican culture.
