International Friendship Day
At Lukestone Care Home, we marked International Friendship Day on Wednesday 30 July with a joyful afternoon of creativity and connection. Our residents and team members gathered to make colourful friendship bracelets using wool in a variety of shades. The activity was not only a fun and tactile craft, but also a meaningful way for our residents to reflect on the importance of friendship and the people who bring joy into their lives.
Our lounge was then brought to life with fantastic entertainment from performer Drew-Levi. He sang some wonderful old classics and his uplifting performance had us singing and dancing along as he interacted with everyone. It was his first visit to our Home and we will definitely be booking him again.
Tiger Day
In another heartwarming moment from the week, our resident Katherine took part in a creative colouring session to mark International Tiger Day and created her very first piece — an adorable baby tiger cub. She was delighted at the end result, and rightly so! Our gents also got to work, concentrating on their tiger-themed pictures, which we all admired.
Creative activities like this not only foster artistic expression, but also build confidence and bring a great sense of achievement.
