Our residents at Lukestone Care Home were visited again by the ‘fluffies’ and reptiles from Wild Science last week.
Wild Science is an organisation that brings collections of small animals into Care Homes for residents to hold and interact with.
It makes such a difference to some residents, to be able to stroke or hold small animals. We ran the session in our lounge, but made sure that we included those in bed too, so everyone got to enjoy the experience.
Our ladies and gents always anticipate the arrival of the animals and get so much out of their session with them, which provides comfort and relaxation, as well as the opportunity to chat about animals and reminisce about pets from the past.
The Wild Science animals – which this time included a frog, a snake and a very friendly black rabbit – are always well behaved and are enjoyed by all our residents, whether they choose to hold and interact with them, or simple look at them.
Thanks Wild Science, we look forward to seeing your wonderful creatures again soon!
