Here at Lukestone Care Home we were thrilled to host our fantastic Summer Fete on Saturday 21 June; the weather was glorious and we welcomed lots of family and friends.
There were games, live music and great food on offer for everyone. Family, residents and team members enjoyed ‘guess the weight of the cake‘ and ‘guess the number of jelly babies in the jar‘ games. Our lovely Jim guessed the weight of the cake correctly and won the whole cake as his prize; he very generously asked our team to share it among themselves – thank you Jim! Team and family members also won lot of prizes at our Tombola, so nobody went home empty-handed!
Our Catering Team prepared a tempting variety of dishes and puddings to choose from including hot dogs, burgers, salads and potatoes. They also offered fish and chips, ham, egg and chips or fish pie to our lovely residents, so there was something to tempt all tastebuds. We had a little bar in our Paula’s Pantry where we served drinks for everyone.
After lunch, we all enjoyed live music from performer Cheryl in our garden. We refreshed ourselves with ice cream cones and ice lollies, as our guests danced, clapped hands and tapped their feet.
What a wonderful day, enjoyed by everyone who joined us at Lukestone. Our families have given such positive feedback about the fete, saying that they had such a great time. It was a truly memorable event and it was so special seeing our lovely residents having fun with their loved ones.
