Last week, everyone at Lukestone Care Home celebrated ‘Sports Week’, which included a variety of sports-themed activities, as well as preparation for our annual Sports Day!
On Monday we put our arts and crafts skills to use by making sports balls out of paper plates, painting them different colours and adding details onto them. We made lots of basketballs, tennis balls and even some rugby and footballs!
As part of our arts and crafts activities we also made some DIY flags for our residents to use on the side lines to wave and use to cheer others on during our Sports Day!
It was so fun to turn these creative ideas into reality.
Lastly, we made a huge Sports Day banner on a white sheet which our residents had lots of fun painting – they did a great job!
Later in the week we prepped our residents for Sports Day by offering a number of sports activities for them to practice.
They could test their aim and ability with target games and much more! This has been such a fun week and we can’t wait for our Sports Day to arrive!
