Our residents and staff at Lukestone Care Home came together to celebrate the Queens’s 94th birthday with a special afternoon tea.
Each of our ladies and gents received an invitation for the event;
“You are invited for an afternoon ‘High Tea’ to celebrate the Queen’s birthday. The party will take place on Monday 8th June at 2:00pm in the garden of Lukestone Nursing Home. Come and share some special moments with friends over a cup of tea and cakes. We look forward to seeing you there. The Recreation Team.”
We had great fun decorating our tables outdoors with table cloths, pretty serviettes, flags and china tea services, and Union Jack bunting filled our garden.
We served a selection of sandwiches, delicious cupcakes and a rather impressive St George’s cross cake.
Singer Jasmine Kittermaster came to entertain us all with her ‘Dreamboats and Petticoats‘ early rock ‘n roll tribute show, which went down well with everyone.
It was such a lovely occasion and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere as we celebrated our Queen on her special day.
