We recently hosted a fantastic Coffee Morning at Lukestone Care Home in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, an important charity which helps so many people.
Coffee is such a great ‘medicine’ for bringing people together – a cup of coffee and a chat can bring such comfort and happiness, which is so good for our mental health.
For our event, we had some very kind bakers who gifted a range of tasty treats; our Recreational and Well-Being Champion Linda, and Ellie from our Domestic team, both baked and donated goodies, Volunteer Andrew donated a cake and Bhim our Chef baked a beautiful cake and delicious cupcakes. Thank you to them all!
We decorated our Home with Macmillan table cloths and an impressive green and white balloon arch, and invited everyone to come and enjoy a sweet treat with a hot drink to help fundraise. Musician Rob T also joined us for the afternoon and played some wonderful music as we all socialised and enjoyed our goodies.
We are pleased to have raised £88 for Macmillan and would like to thank everyone who kindly contributed and donated on the day – it’s much appreciated.
