Eurovision becomes ‘Nellsarvision’
In April, Nellsar Care Homes launched its very own ‘Nellsarvision Song Contest’ in the run up to the Eurovision Song Contest which took place at the weekend in Sweden.
Teams, residents, and family members across Nellsar’s 13 Homes were invited to stretch their vocal cords, whip out their musical instruments and get singing – to enter a song of their choice to be judged by Nellsar’s Recreation and Well-Being Manager Viv Stead along with popular singer Kevin Walsh, who is a regular performer in many Nellsar Homes, including Lukestone.
Nine Homes entered a total of 15 video entries and Viv and Kevin had the daunting task of choosing first, second and third place.
A winning performance…
The song we chose for our video entry was the 1955 hit ‘Que Sera, Sera’ made famous by Doris Day. We had lots of fun dressing up and involving some of our ladies and family members in our performance, with our team members giving some wonderful solos.
We are thrilled to announce that our entry came second in the competition, winning us £150 for our Residents’ Fund!
Viv commented: “A lovely summery performance which included relatives. A song that cheers the heart!”
Huge congratulations to everyone involved in making our video!
