We held a sweepstake with our lovely residents for the Grand National this month here at Lukestone Care Home.
We all enjoyed watching the famous horse race on television, with our ladies and gents cheering on the horses they had chosen. One of our ladies picked the winning horse and was presented with a giant bar of chocolate to celebrate.
During the morning we shared a reminiscence discussion about the Grand National whilst we served tea, coffee and a delicious choice of cakes and scones. One of our residents mentioned the famous horse Red Rum winning the National many years ago which brought back lots of memories.
A thoroughly enjoyable day!
