On Wednesday 14 April our residents and staff at Lukestone Care Home set sail to Spain!
Onboard ship, we were warmly welcomed by our Captain Emanuel who invited us to a play about poor Ferdinand the Bull, who did not want to fight Matador, instead he liked to smell flowers!
Lukestone staff performed the show and we all had a lot of fun watching it.
Afterwards we held a fiesta and everyone enjoyed dancing and singing with big smiles on their faces! Our ladies wore red roses and our gents Matador’s hats. Our team dressed up and everyone appreciated the company of Matadors, Zorro, the bull and beautiful señoritas!
We served delicious Spanish food and snacks, prepared by our lovely kitchen Chefs. Our residents loved drinking sangria, one of the most popular drinks in Spanish cuisine.
After lunch, everyone had fun with a quiz about Spain. We guessed that it was a favourite holiday destination amongst our ladies and gents, as they knew so much about this beautiful country!
We also played a piñata game which was a good giggle!
It was a lovely day, full of colours and enjoyment for everyone.
