Lukestone Care Home residents enjoy a Greek adventure

We took our Lukestone Care Home residents on a wonderful Nellsar mini cruise to Greece last week!

Virtual travel is so much fun and we organised a number of themed activities including Greek arts and crafts, and a Greek-themed movie afternoon.

Our ladies and gents created different face masks by colouring and decorating them. Later they wore them and enjoyed themselves with Greek music. Our team members dressed in traditional Greek outfits (including Greek sky goddesses Selene and Nyx) and danced for our lovely residents. Nurse Alex joined in and danced with our ladies, and later our team performed a dance for our residents in their rooms. Our families and relatives joined in the dancing too and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the lively vibes!

One of our colleagues Ellie is from Greece, so she helped us prepare for our cruise. She made an incredible spread of delicious Greek food including renga, spanakopita, chicken pilafi, eros pita chicken and pork with tzatziki, with puddings of semolina halva and more, for our team members on the last day of our travels. It was amazing! We thanked her with a bouquet of flowers and a card, as she really made our virtual Greek experience so memorable.

What an incredible cruise. We can’t wait to continue our journey in March!
