Our residents enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year on Wednesday 29 January here at Lukestone Care Home – the year of the snake according to Chinese tradition.
We served delicious Chinese food and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere with Chinese music playing, Chinese lantern decorations and our pretty Chinese parasols. Families joined in too and tried some of the tempting Chinese food prepared by our lovely Chef Bhim. Trolleys were also taken to residents in their rooms so they could join in with the experience.
Our Recreation and Well-Being Team members were dressed up in Chinese outfits and enjoyed talking about New Year traditions with our ladies and gents. Some residents also helped to make a paper snake. Great fun!
