Residential Care Home in Sittingbourne
Excellent facilities and furnishings
Having once been a private residence, Woodstock is now an established care home providing a welcoming and homely environment for those living with dementia or requiring residential care.
With 45 bedrooms, five lounges, dining room and beautiful gardens we provide a truly home-from-home feel for those in our care. Spanning two floors with lift access, all our rooms are decorated to hotel standard and many include en-suite facilities. We have also recently renovated the décor in our lodge rooms, dining area and corridors. Our Home is open 24 hours a day and all rooms are equipped with a call system for added reassurance.
Décor and furniture are carefully chosen to meet individual tastes and residents are actively encouraged to bring their own furnishings or make suggestions to create their own unique space. Our Housekeeping Team and Maintenance Person attentively look after the Home and grounds and are very much involved in our residents’ day-to-day lives. Our Head Housekeeper also has an exceptional flare for interior design.
Forming friendships
When welcoming residents and their relatives to Woodstock we understand the importance of establishing friendships and forming relationships, not only with our caring team members but also other residents. Our communal lounges, private seating areas, conservatory and garden are perfect for creating a social and vibrant environment and provide the perfect space for daily activities.
Recreation and leisure
No two days are the same at Woodstock. Our Recreation and Well-Being Team create a wonderfully varied programme of entertainment and activities tailored to the interests of each and every person. Whether this is arts and crafts, singing along with our live entertainers, gardening and cooking, or just spending one-on-one time solving a crossword or enjoying a hand massage.
Our team members and residents look forward to making the most of seasonal events such as Easter, Christmas, Halloween and Valentine’s Day, with decorations a must. Our support and fundraising for charities such as Macmillan and Alzheimer’s Society often involves fun competitions and special events, and generates friendly competition between other Nellsar Homes!
Getting out-and-about and continuing to enjoy day trips is something we always look forward to. Our minibus (with wheelchair access) is always on hand to visit the coast, coffee shops, garden centres, shows or local attractions such as Leeds Castle. Fresh air is very much a ‘tonic’ to boost appetite, encourage better sleep and create new memories.
As well as getting out in the community, we also invite the community to us. It’s wonderful when a local group of nursery children visit us at Woodstock. The interaction between our residents and the children is fascinating to see, with all ages demonstrating a natural instinct to nurture, be inquisitive and have fun!

A shared Nellsar culture
As part of a group of Care Homes, we are extremely proud of our caring, supportive culture which embodies empathy, equity, professionalism and continuous improvement. Our shared values focus on the individual – from residents to team members – creating an inclusive environment with both residents and team members at the heart of what we do every day.
Nutrition and dining
Food is something we put a lot of thought and energy into at Woodstock. Not only by creating a unique dining experience for everyone, but in the choice and variety of meals we offer. Fresh ingredients, seasonal recipes, dietary requirements and personal preferences are paramount when creating our menus. We also source local produce including a fantastic butcher with the best Aberdeen Angus this side of Scotland!
The Nellsar Group is also unique in having its very own Nutrition and Wellness Manager, Leni, who works alongside our Catering Team to create the best holistic and nutritional healthcare for our residents.
We always encourage friends and family to join us for mealtimes and in addition to our large dining room, we have outdoor seating areas and a barbecue for the warmer months.
Nellsar Care and Cookery Book
Pioneers in the Care Catering industry, the Nellsar Care and Cookery Book celebrates our person-centred care catering and nutritional support. We also share some of our residents’ favourite seasonal recipes and an insight into the wonderful cooking clubs in our Care Homes.
Personal care and well-being
Every aspect of personal care and well-being is on offer to our residents. We arrange visits from external professionals such as chiropodists, district nurses, speech therapists and Visioncall; eye care specialists using dementia friendly communication techniques. We also have our very own hair salon and trained manicurist on site.
We understand the emotional challenges that moving to a care home has on both the individual and their families. With this in mind, we ensure that special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries are celebrated (usually with cake or special treats) and our Resident of the Day initiative emphasises the person centred care we provide. For those with loved ones living further afield, Skype chats can help maintain family connections and involvement.
Our dedicated team members
Woodstock’s Home Manager, Roz Kelly, is passionate about our team members and their development. Roz has been part of the Nellsar family since 2021 and is immensely proud of her team and the love and care they give to our residents. All our carers complete an NVQ or Care Certificate and many of our team members have worked at Woodstock for an impressive amount of time; 21 years for caterers Cilla and Lynn, and over 15 years for Deputy Manager Paula, and Maintenance man, Carlos!
We’d love to show you around Woodstock, so you can see our care and facilities first hand.
