We held our summer fete here at Lukestone Care Home on Saturday 20 July and we were very lucky to have a group of young people from the National Citizen Service (NCS) to help us with the day, including selling raffle tickets for us.
We organised an entertainer to come and sing for us, and some of our residents enjoyed dancing to the music.
Our residents really loved being outside in our garden with their families and many won a prize on our raffle, which was announced by our entertainer. We were also joined by Viv Stead, our Recreation and Well-Being Manager, which was super.
We raised an impressive total of £219.50 during the fete – so thank you for all the support from our families and staff, especially our Recreation and Well-Being Team for all their hard work in arranging the day and getting the donations from local businesses in the form of vouchers and a hamper.
Special thanks to our Recreation and Well-Being Team Leader Inakshi, who made our wonderful ‘guess the weight‘ cake. An amazing talent!
