Here at Lukestone Care Home we like to keep fit. Physical health is very important to us and every day we follow a gentle exercise program.
Our weekly schedule includes:
Monday, Thursday and Saturday: Cycling
Tuesday: Balloon exercises
Wednesday: Resistance bands
Friday: Exercise challenge fun in the garden
Sunday: Family exercise fun
Exercise is good for physical health and strengthening our muscles and bones, but it’s also excellent for our mental health, producing happy hormones so needed for our wellbeing.
Our routines include easy lifting of shoulders, hands and legs and using dumbbells. We also make use of soft and squishy balls for hand and finger exercises, plus balloons and swimming noodles.
While we are keeping fit we are also having fun together and our residents love it!
