On Saturday 16 August, we hosted a wonderful Book Club session for our residents at Lukestone Care Home, bringing together a wide range of reading choices to suit everyone’s interests. There was something for everyone to enjoy, from history books and garden-themed reads, to fashion, cars, and even a special book about Princess Diana.
Our residents also loved looking through the latest Nellsar newsletter. A particular favourite of the afternoon was a book entitled ‘Old Maidstone‘, which sparked lots of interest among those who know the town well.
Many of our residents enjoyed support from our team as we read aloud and explained parts of the stories, which made the experience more inclusive and engaging. The joy came not only from the reading itself, but also from learning new things and spending time together.
Our Book Club has quickly become a treasured activity at our Home, and we’re looking forward to discovering which books our residents will choose next time.
