Here at Lukestone Care Home we marked the D-Day anniversary on Friday 6 June, with our lovely residents coming together to reminisce in the morning.
They helped us make a display board with pictures of D-Day and created beautiful poppy decorations in our arts and crafts session. It was a day of reflection and discussion, remembering the wartime and those who gave their lives.
Everyone shared a lovely afternoon tea which included delicious doughnuts, as it was also National Doughnut Day. Our ladies and gents, along with family members, enjoyed scones with butter, jam and cream.
It was National Fish and Chip Day too, so for lunch our Catering Team served classic fish and chips, which is always such a favourite.
