Deck the halls!
All of us have been excited about Christmas, so as soon as December started Linda, our Activity Champion, decorated a six foot Christmas tree with Gillian and Dawn here at Lukestone Care Home!
They enveloped the tree with golden tinsel and wrapped warm yellow and white fairy lights evenly around the branches. Our residents loved placing red and gold baubles and bows on our Christmas tree too – it looks wonderful!Â
Later, more of our residents came in to look at what they had prepared for Christmas. Patricia looked impressed as she admired the decorations.
Our beautiful tree is now displayed in our main lounge for everyone to see.Â
Perfect pom poms!
On Monday 5 December, we held a special activity with our residents to make white fluffy pom poms to decorate some of our Christmas trees displayed in our main lounge.
Our Activities Team participated to help our residents in making these little ball of fluff! After winding the wool in place and seeing us struggle to cut it, they had a big laugh! Everyone loved being involved in their creation.
Later, we tidied the ends up and Linda placed them in the trees for our residents to admire.
It’s definitely starting to feel festive at Lukestone!
