We’ve had a wonderful flurry of birthdays recently here at Lukestone Care Home and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed celebrating them all!
On Sunday 9 February we wished two of our gents a very happy birthday – Stanley who turned 96 and Michael who turned 87. They celebrated their birthdays in our main lounge and Michael was so happy when all our team members and residents started to sing birthday songs for them, he danced and sang along! Stanley got so happy that he had a tear in his eye.
Stanley had his grand daughter Sophie and her family visiting during the day and in the evening his daughter Sharon with other family members and relatives came to celebrate the day.
Later, our lovely residents enjoyed the birthday cake our Chef Preeti had made.
This week, Annie turned 90 on Wednesday 12 February and her daughter Joanne came to visit her. Joanne gifted Annie a beautiful blanket she’d knitted and Annie loved being wrapped in it for the day! They had lunch together and Annie’s son Graham arrived later to join in the celebrations. Performer Cheryl sang beautiful songs for Annie and all our residents and wished her a happy ‘big birthday’, with everyone dancing and singing along, having a great time.
Our other birthday girl, Shirley, turned 79 on the same day. She celebrated in her room and thoroughly enjoyed her birthday cake with all our other residents later in the day. She loved reading the birthday messages from all of us and was very happy.
Many happy returns to Michael, Stanley, Annie and Shirley!
